| If everything has become a blur to you as you try to learn this great game, try to picture something I often picture when I suffer from "swing lesson" overload. You are standing in a big field. At one end of the field is the big old broadside of a barn. You are at the other end of the field and you are looking over your left shoulder at the side of that barn which is about 200 yards away. Your best friend is with you and has proposed a challenge for you. He gives you a fairly stout, straight stick about three and a half feet long. He has you hold one end of the stick and impales a thick, juicy apple on the other end... now comes the challenge. Your friend offers you 100 to one odds that you can't hit that barn with that apple by just swinging the stick with your hands and arms and by using any body movements you deem necessary. You assess the situation. You know you need to get that stick (apple) moving in a circular motion. You know it will take quite a bit of centrifugal force to cover that distance. AT JUST THE RIGHT TIME, YOU POUR ON THE POWER AND TIME IT SO THE APPLE COMES OFF AT JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT, FLIES ON A NICE HIGH ARC TOWARDS THE BARN, AND SMASHES RIGHT INTO THE AREA OF THE BARN WHERE YOUR EYES WERE FOCUSED... that's all the golf swing is my friends, that's all it is.........
An undertaking like this is never complete as long as the author is still learning. I hope you will revisit often and share any questions, concerns or opinions regarding the content. Additionally, I am working on some pretty cool products that I think will help some of you in your quest or just make the game more fun. As soon as I deem any of those products worthy and truly helpful, please look for them on this site and, as always, I welcome any and all critique. Thanks for participating, and good luck on your journey... Nick!
